Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician you may be required to perform tasks involved in the upkeep of the building and grounds, installation, maintenance, maintain and repairing of hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and electrical systems on all production machines, equipment and building. May be required to perform purchasing and inventory of maintenance parts & supplies and successfully negotiate and interact with; suppliers, customers, manufacturers and internal department personnel. The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow Alpha's standards for safety and conduct.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance Technician II -This is the second level position title within this series. Employees at this level are expected to have developed a trade of expertise for and have the ability to work independently in the performance of standard maintenance and repairs.
Maintenance Technician II Duties:
The flowing list of major duties represents a composite list of typical duties performed by individuals in this position. Specific duties performed by the incumbent will vary depending up on the facility and/or department within the Company.
Performs preventive maintenance and makes repairs to heating, ventilating, air conditioning equipment according to instructions such as replacing belts on motors, changing filters, bearings, etc.
Maintains and makes routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from senior technicians, supervisor and/or equipment service manuals.
Apply carpentry techniques and using carpentry tools to construct, alter, repair, and/or install walls, stairs, floors, ceiling, windows, doors, roofs, gutters, lock, etc.

3+ years of biotech industry facilities experience.
Skilled in basic maintenance and construction trades and techniques.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and be able to read and write routine reports.
Must also have experience and knowledge of basic pc skills and the ability to operate hand and power tools such as drills, saws, grinders and sanders.
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
