Linux System Engineer Senior

Location: San Jose, California
Serve as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of our systems
Troubleshoot and resolve issues escalated by customers and internal systems, including developing, implementing and deploying emergency hot fixes
Identify opportunities to automate tasks and maintain operational tools
Lead efforts to diagnose and completely resolve complex systems configuration, production and deployment problems
Provide support when operational problems occur, problem solving, and root cause analysis
Demonstrate the ability to work independently within a fast paced environment – looking for the fix rather than the cause of an issue
Make technical and process recommendations
Create and maintain policies that improve Client internal services
Participate in 24x7 rotations

At least 4-5 years of systems administration in a large-scale Linux environment
Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot problems in unfamiliar code and in complex systems
Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, particularly as it relates to issue diagnosis and resolution Experience configuring and debugging Apache, Tomcat, and/or Weblogic servers
Demonstrable ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
Prior experience working in a 24/7 operational environment
Willing to work day, swing and night shifts
Understanding of networking/distributed computing
Experience with MySQL, Java, Perl, Python (Gentoo), PHP are a plus
