Systems Test Technician

The Systems Test Technician will support system level performance tests of new product prototypes as well as competitive products. Main responsibilities will be the execution of performance testing, documenting results and tracking of UUTs (units under test) using practices and procedures established by internally developed standards.
The successful candidate will also perform operational test and fault isolation on robotic systems and equipment, assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions and assist in the design, construction, test and troubleshooting of test equipment.
The Systems Test Technician will use common hand and power tools (e.g. screw drivers, wrenches, drills, and multi-meters). The Systems Test Technician will interact with robotic systems primarily via a Linux shell.
Essential Functions/Duties
Execute performance tests and document results in accordance with standards and procedures.
Install, configure and upgrade software to run on Linux and embedded platforms
Document and communicate results and findings to define performance or facilitate root cause analysis and resolution when failure occurs.
Support team in performing other Electro-Mechanical testing and measurements.
Support test facility and equipment maintenance and management.
Maintain clean, organized space around fixtures
Track and organize tools and equipment as required by fixtures team
Work hands on with engineers to support the building, operating, and maintaining of test fixtures
Mechanical assembly
General wiring
General debugging of fixtures and tests

3 years’ experience performing system level testing, preferably performance testing
Experience working in a Linux environment
Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP networks using Wi-Fi
Detail oriented with a proven track record of documenting test results as well as recognizing and documenting deviations, anomalies, and failures during testing.
Experience troubleshooting and debugging electro-mechanical equipment, electronic setups, and measurement equipment.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of task execution and work with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working in team environment, adapting to changes in assignments, and balancing competing priorities.
Able to communicate technical information and test results effectively. Also, able to provide test summaries and detailed defect descriptions.
Proficient with MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word

Experience with Windows Operating Systems
Experience analyzing data to recognize trends and verify measurement quality.
Working experience with scripting languages for data analysis, e.g. Python, Matlab

Experience with electromechanical assembly
Machining and/or woodworking experience
Familiarity with LabView interfaces
Experience with document creation in Microsoft Office Suite
