QA/QC Technician III

This role will be under the Alere San Diego (Client Rapid Diagnostics: Cardio Metabolic San Diego Campus) Quality System. The position will be located at the San Diego Cardio Metabolic Distribution Center Warehouse Facility.

This individual will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance in a GMP environment. This individual will have at least 2 years of experience performing QC Inspections of raw materials and/or finished products. Functional knowledge of ANSI standard inspections is very important. This person must be very detail-oriented and demonstrate a very low rate of errors in record keeping and material handling. This individual must be prepared for significant hands-on work the raw material and finished product and will be doing a lot of status labeling of materials. This individual will also be conducting raw material inspections in the QC lab. Experience in non-conformance management and SOP revision is a big plus.

Summary: The main function of a quality technician is to inspect and test processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defect, wear, and deviations from specifications. Job Responsibilities: Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required. Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications. Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded. Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status. Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. Analyze test data and make computations as necessary to determine test results. Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems. Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments. Skills: Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability. Team player and detail oriented. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent experience/training required. 5-7 years experience required.
