Supervisor Account Payables

The accounts payable supervisor will work with internal and external customers to successfully resolve problems. They will supervise an Accounts Payable staff of four, who process and pay invoices and expense reports, and train and mentor staff. They will also work with management to document, recommend, test and implement internal control changes.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Provide daily supervision and leadership to 4 clerical staff members
Work with internal and external customers to successfully resolve problems on invoices and expense reports to ensure timely and accurate payment
Address questions related to company policy
Monitor invoice volume and re-distribute workload as needed
Enforce proper escalation procedures and troubleshooting techniques
Work with management to document, recommend, test and implement internal control changes
Research and enforce purchasing contracts and requisitions
Test and implement system updates and new software
Review all new suppliers and maintain the Oracle supplier database
Ensure compliance to IRS requirements for W-9s, W-8s and informational 1099 reporting
Assist auditors with schedules, test samples, and reconciliations
Assist with staffing the department and preparing performance reviews
Special projects and other duties as assigned

Prior Supervisory experience in AP or Accounting
Knowledge of payables and accounting procedures
4-6 years' experience in AP or Accounting, including the use of Oracle AP
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Competent in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
Willingness to learn and work through change
