Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Japanese language curator of digital media, who is capable of quickly and accurately identifying the best Japanese Twitter content in Tweets, photos, and videos.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in using Twitter on a daily basis, and has a strong journalism/media background with some breaking news experience in a fast paced newsroom environment. This individual has knowledge in a variety of mainstream content verticals (News, Politics, Sports, Entertainment, etc,) in Japan and abroad, and will collect tweets in Japanese to narrate and explain a story in variety of topics. As a member of Twitter Moment’s global curation team, this individual will work closely with colleagues from around the world, and needs to be a strong communicator and a team player, excited to collaborate with the team, and learn from international peers who have different points of view and areas of expertise.
Candidates will need to be available to work early mornings, nights and weekends and should be very familiar with Japanese-speaking Twitter communities and users.
Success in this role is measured by:
● Identifying Japanese and international events, conversations and emerging trends on Twitter that will drive unique content experiences
● Curating live streams of Twitter content across various topics in Japanese
● Weaving stories from Tweets to create compelling, narratively-driven Japanese Moments
● Working quickly and under time pressure without sacrificing accuracy
● Communicating early, clearly, and often when collaborating on short and long-term assignments with local as well as global colleagues
● Providing incisive feedback on use of internal tools

Qualifications:
● Work experience: 2+ years of experience working in journalism, social media, and/or publishing
● Deep knowledge of one or more content areas (News, Politics, Sports, Entertainment, etc.)
● Experience curating Tweets in real-time or for publishing in Japanese
● Extensive experience using Twitter — preferably as a reporting tool for a media outlet(s)
● Experience with newsgathering tools such as Tweetdeck, Dataminr, etc. is preferred
● Education: BA/BS degree required
● Language skills: Native level Japanese and conversational English skills required
