Job Details:

Position is working as an associate Scientist. Looking for a candidate with a Master's degree and a least 1 year of experience. Would take someone with a Bachelor's degree and multiple years of experience but Master's degree is highly preferred. Role is more specialized and focused on Chemistry based work. 

Under supervision, the laboratory associate scientist will assist in carrying out research activities related to laboratory/translational research for improved therapeutic studies in nephrology and related fields. In addition, they will be given the opportunity to enhance their research skills by working with our diverse team of researchers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• In collaboration with a direct supervisor, works on problems of diverse scope using different methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Follows general instructions and standard operating procedures, completes independently day-to-day routine work in the laboratory.
• Assists senior scientists with conducting experiments including setup, sample preparation, sample analysis, data collection, analysis and interpretation of research findings.
• Performs various laboratory tests and operates laboratory equipment including hematology analyzer, biochemistry analyzer, liquid handler, flow cytometer, plate reader, liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.
• Works collaboratively with all member of the research team.
• Assists laboratory manager with maintaining inventory of reagents and equipment.

EDUCATION:
• Master's Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences required. Advanced degree desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Master's degree with minimum of 1 year of research experience or training in a laboratory setting preferred.
Familiarity with both mass spectrometry and separation science is required, and hands-on operating experience in quantitative LC-MS analysis is preferred.
• Proficiency in general computer software, as well as vendor-specific LC-MS instrument control and data analysis tools from major vendors such as Agilent is important.
• Hands-on experience with small molecule bioanalysis of human samples.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting analytical LC-MS instrumentation is preferred.
• Previous GLP experience is a plus.
• Prior publications or abstracts is plus.
• Strong skills in writing and excellent scientific vocabulary.
• Proven experience in multi-tasking, organizational functions and reaching timelines.
• Must demonstrate ability to take independent initiative.
• Strong skills in problem-solving, generating value-added solutions.
