The manager is looking for a Market Researcher
Specifically Looking for:
SPSS or SAS- statistical packages
focus groups customer experience survey design vendor management presentation skills power point, chart design, and excel for sample management
Responsible for assisting in the design, execution and reporting of primary and secondary research that
drives strategic decision making with the company. This position supports all corporate business lines.
Methodologies include qualitative and quantitative studies and participates on a team that acts as
consultants working with multiple stakeholders (Marketing, Product Development, Finance, Operations,
etc.), working to understand the business need, options available and potential constraints in order to
design and execute research that clarifies critical issues and build consensus in decision making.
Works with senior market research staff and internal clients to understand business decisions to be made
and project scope. Helps determine design and research plan to meet the need. This may include
complex, multi-issue research projects.
Designs and develops RFPs requesting complex multi-issue projects.
Evaluates initial RFPs and provides significant input on vendor choice to senior market research staff.
Interacts with vendors on day-to-day process issues, and requires minimal guidance to resolve issues.
Monitors progress of complex multi issue studies and validates the accuracy of data.
Compiles and analyzes survey data, sometimes from complex, multi issue studies. Can see patterns in
data and performs additional analyses to expand on findings.
Coordinates and may analyze focus groups independently.
Drafts or edits written reports and PowerPoint presentations which are clear, concise and easy to
Organize, analyze and interpret research data to pull out meaning from data.
Build concise, graphical reports that inform senior management of the strategic direction the research
Defend research data, build arguments and convince a client audience.
Presents findings / interpretations via PowerPoint presentations.to working team (with minimal oversight).
Begins to recognize barriers to adoption and suggests ways to overcome them at working team level.
Manages research budget on a project.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in
accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to
Promote an environment that supports diversity.
Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit
points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Project scope is typically on the departmental level. Projects are mostly tactical in nature, although some
strategic studies are sometimes done. Working team clients are normally VP level and below. Project
owners are normally Admin, Group and Senior VP level.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
4+ years' relevant experience
In lieu of degree, 8+ years' relevant experience.
Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
Working knowledge of SPSS, SAS or other statistical software and survey development tools
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Background in quantitative research (web, phone and mail) and qualitative research (in person/online
focus groups and in-depth interviews), including survey design, data analysis and interpretation, report
writing and presentation of key findings.
Knowledge of a some market research methodologies and techniques especially in the area of customer
satisfaction/loyalty research, brand awareness/usage and new product development.
Good organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Strong presentation
Master's degree or PhD with a concentration in Statistics, Psychology or Marketing preferred.
