Job Responsibilities:
Provide support for deployment of hardware for data, voice, Audio Visual and Security service
Review electrical loads with Facilities Engineering for incoming equipment to ensure available capacity
Review of plug types to ensure compatibility of incoming hardware with outlet configuration
Review of heat loads for equipment deployed to ensure available cooling capacity
Provide oversight of cabling activity required at sites through Sanofi approved vendors to handle moves/adds/changes for new data jack locations
Periodic inspection of IDFs/MDFs to ensure:
Compliance with IS Standards for voice and cabling
Adequate switch capacity exists
Electrical backup (UPS) equipment is functioning correctly
Environmental issues – water leakage, condensation, room temperature
MDF/IDF are not to be used for storage
Provide support to work outages of power or cooling systems supporting GIS Infrastructure at local sites by contacting vendors/landlords and facilities personnel in accordance with IS support procedures
Provide support for Building expansions or construction projects
To include:
Review of cabling needed to support the LAN needs of the space
Review of floor plans to determine proper placement of IDFs
Provide oversight of cable vendors to ensure compliance with cable and IDF/MDF Standards
Provide interface with A/V group to ensure conference rooms meet needs of end users
Conduct periodic reviews of work provided by vendors installing GIS Infrastructure for data/voice
Coordinate activity for requests to provide additional network jacks and or repair of existing network jack

BS/BA in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related area or equivalent experience 3- 5 years’ experience in data/telecommunications project management.
Knowledge of telecommunications equipment installation and Category 3, 5, 5E and 6 cabling
Familiarity with US Electrical Code and Building Code
Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
Willingness to work non-regular business hours as projects require
Willingness and ability to travel to Genzyme sites in Western US as necessary
