Senior Project Manager responsible for driving the delivery of one or more strategic projects.
Experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry preferred.
Familiarity with cGMP environment, including commissioning, qualification, and validation.
Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrated experience managing teams consisting of internal staff, supervising engineering and construction activities, and preparing turnover documentation from execution and as-built drawings.
Estimating, scheduling, and management reporting (i.e. cost and schedule) experience. Projects will require earned value/progress tracking.
Provide support to large-scale, complex construction/engineering projects that involve multiple internal and external stakeholders.
Coach and provide guidance to the Project Sponsor, Project Leader, and project team towards the fundamental goal of successful project completion.
Support the Project Sponsor and/or Project Leader in organizing a Project Steering Committee consisting of all pertinent stakeholders.
Work with the Project Leader (i.e., Business Owner) to manage stakeholder expectations.
Assist the Project Leader and/or Project Controller with the development and management of an integrated project budget in the project portfolio management system (including resource allocations); identify cost variances.
Assist the Project Leader in developing the resource management plan.
Create and/or maintain a project schedule in the project portfolio management system to allow an overall view of related project activities and identify schedule variances.
Identify the work packages, guide the project team through the phase gate process, and coordinate all activities to ensure that project objectives and stakeholder's expectations are achieved.
Achieve the project success criteria identified in the Business Case.
Represent the project team at governance meetings.
Monitor project progress and resources needed to ensure project objectives and stakeholder's expectations are achieved.
Assist the Project Leader to assess the impact of risk to a project's schedule and budget, create the risk register, and define risk response plans.
Ensure issues are addressed and/or escalated for resolution in a timely manner.
Provide accurate and timely information is provided to stakeholders so they can make informed decisions and take necessary actions to correct any possible adverse situations or trends.
Report project status to all levels of management including, but not limited to influence project performance and support Project Leaders and project team members by ensuring they adhere to Sanofi project management standards.
10+ years managing complex, cross-functional projects.
Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of project management methodologies and tools.
Experience in working with stakeholders to manage their expectations and engage them to address and resolve issues.
Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Outlook).
Experience with Planisware or other project portfolio management software (e.g., Planview, CA PPM, Microsoft Project Server).
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Strong planning, organizational, and leadership skills, including the ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace, and execute with limited information and ambiguity.
Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives.
Strong coaching and communication (verbal and written) skills, including the ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to navigate in a highly-matrixed organization effectively.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make effective presentations, and proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders.
Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
Ability to quickly build rapport and strong relationships with others.
