Merchant Data Services Technical Writer

The main function of a technical writer is to prepare documentation and training materials in support of the launch of our new Visa Merchant Screening Service (VMSS) product. Visa Merchant Screening Service is a global self-service portal which provides acquirers to list or search for terminated merchants.

This position will have four main responsibilities:
1. Work with Product Managers, Support and Technology to create support documentation for users of the VMSS. This documentation will define and document the functionalities of VMSS.
2. Work with our Client Success personnel to create and update user conversion and training materials to support converting our existing VMAS and VMTS users to the VMSS as well as onboarding new users.
3. Work with our Product Marketing Enablement and Sales groups, to assist in writing copy for VMSS marketing collateral.
4. Work with our Product Managers, to document VMSS API implementation guide.

Additional responsibilities include:
1. Help define VMSS support documentation structure, utilizing previous documentation whenever possible, and also using the product when necessary.
2. Elicit requirements through interviews and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.
3. Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing. Gather usability feedback from customers, Support personnel and Product Managers during user acceptance testing and beta testing
4. Revise documents as new issues arise
5. Work with our Product Marketing Enablement and Sales groups, to assist in writing copy for Merchant Data services APIs marketing collateral.

• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• 3-7 years financial services related experience required; credit/debit card experience preferred
• Recent involvement in the day-to-day tasks of the user acceptance testing process.
• Ability to interpret requirement documents and update test documents accordingly.
• Strong facilitation skills. Must be able to elicit requirements from various personalities across organizational and geographical boundaries.
• Understanding of business and technical solutions surrounding the internationalization of Web-based applications and APIs.
• Proficiency with waterfall and Agile software development life cycles and software development methodologies.
• Aptitude for understanding, digesting and analyzing complex systems integration.
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.
• Previous experience with computer applications, such as Adobe Acrobat Professional, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks
