Staff Instrument & Controls Engineer

Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Instrument & controls engineering including front-end planning, I&C quantity and cost estimation, conceptual studies, detailed design, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and construction & commissioning support for EPC projects in Oil & Gas refineries and Chemical industrial facilities. Work in a project team environment under direct supervision of an I&C lead. Client maintains a strong focus on quality deliverables which are completed on schedule.

•Prepare instruments and control systems specifications, instruments and instrument valves data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations.

•Conduct review of instrument and control systems vendor drawings and data. Interface with suppliers, clients, other engineering disciplines, and detailers/designers.

•Participate in the development of P&ID's and equipment/subcontract package specifications.

•Develop logic diagrams, instrument index, I/O list, cause & effects, and control narratives.

•Able to support construction and startup & commission activities in the field, when required\

•B.Sc. degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering with Minimum 7 years of I&C related experience
•EPC project experience is desirable
•Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills
•Ability to lead analysis and resolution of technical problems
•Must be willing and eligible to obtain or currently hold a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
•This position requires an individual capable of taking variety of project assignments and willing to grow professionally
•Previous engineering experience within Oil, Gas, Chemical industry is preferred
•PE license is preferred, ability to get the PE license is required
20% travel is required
