Associate Equipment Operator, Digital Manufacturing

Position Summary:The primary function of this role is to create custom printed sheets from rolls utilizing digital printing equipment. Performs inline die cut process on printed rolls utilizing magnetic tooling, cutting sheets to variable sizes in following a digitally produced register mark. Finished sheets are slit, stacked, conveyed and ready to be folded. Operates inline vision system and automatic reject system. The secondary function of this role is to assist and support the Folder-Gluer Equipment. In this secondary role, will be responsible for assisting with machine set-up, glue head maintenance, loading the feeder, and all functions associated with machine operation.Primary Responsibilities:•Ability to follow directions and work as a team•Assists with make-ready’s associated with designated equipment.•Assists in all pre and post equipment job operations as directed by the Sr Operator or Lead operator.•Issues, prepares and returns material correctly and in a timely manner for equipment runs.•Responsible for post-production equipment cleaning.•Removes and segregates product per established SOPs and Work Instructions•Ability to use basic hand tools .•Ability to successfully perform roll splicing using the automated equipment.•Ability to handle and mount flexible tooling•Ability to vacuum and clean developer stations•Ability to change developer and toner stations•Ability to fully understand job associated paperwork•Ability to fully understand the press schedule•Performs all actions as per established company policies.•Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.•Applies current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) in all areas of responsibility.•Understands and follows all SOPs and Work Instructions that relate to equipment operations on each equipment.•Demonstrates excellent documentation practices at all times•Ability to work in an organized manner, paying close attention to even the smallest detail, while maintaining a clean professional work environment.•Follows all safety procedures when operating all manufacturing equipment or when handling chemicals.•Maintains the equipment room in an organized manner in order to operate at the highest level of productivity.•Maintains the manufacturing warehouse in a clean and organized manner insuring that we follow F.I.F.O. inventory control.•Maintains the equipment area and storage area in a constant state of cleanliness.•Ability to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate team work when necessary to insure jobs are completed per established timelines.•Ability to multi-task to optimize production while maintaining the highest quality standards.•Other duties may be assigned to meet business needsSecondary Responsibilities:•Prepares make-ready of the feeder unit.•Assist with all associated set up tasks as directed by the folder operator.•Responsible for maintaining the round pile feeder with a constant stream of sheets to ensure continued operation.•Continuously looks for ways to improve assigned tasks while maintaining strict quality standards in accordance with cGMP and SOPs.•Provides all necessary assistance in the operation of the folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures.•Works in unison with the operator to ensure total quality of the job while in operation.•Maintains the machine and area in accordance with the standard operation procedure.•Ability to work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate team work when necessary to insure jobs are completed per established timelines.•Maintains the general area in a constant state of cleanliness. This includes putting away racks, cartons, properly disposing of all excess and scrap after each run, cleaning up any folded booklets that that may be on the floor and taking out the garbage at the end of the shift.•Provides assistance to the operator with all preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment•Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner•Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Minimum Qualifications:•High School Diploma or equivalent•2+ years flexographic printing press experience•2+ year’s experience working in press manufacturing environment•Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify potential solutions associated with a wide array of constructions•Mechanically inclined with demonstrated ability to accurately read measurements.•Detailed oriented.•Ability to communicate in a professional manner with internal customers.•Must be able to accept work instructions on a daily basis.•Cooperative and professional team player•Ability to learn new tasks and accept new responsibilities•Ability to lift and maneuver materials weighing up to 70 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:•Prior experience operating digital printing technologies•Prior experience operating folding equipment Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Experience working in manufacturing environment with printing presses Ability to work in a manufacturing environment Mechanically inclined. Must be detailed orientated. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with internal customers.Must be able to accept work instructions on a daily basis.Ability to learn new tasks and accept new responsibilities.
