Manages the activities of general accounting functions, primarily within the stock compensation and payroll functions, with opportunity for expansion into other areas. Develops, implements, and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including all general accounting functions. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data. Researches and resolves both accounting and process-related issues, and prepares detailed technical accounting memos. Acts as a liaison between the company, government, CPA and other auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes. Supports the preparation of federal, state and local reports and tax returns. Creates and interprets reports and records for management. Supports management in the preparation of management reporting, financial analysis and financial statements. Works on special projects as needed. Responsible for the preparation of technical accounting memos related to payroll or stock issues. Responsible for the preparation and/or review of pertinent journal entries, reports, reconciliations, and analysis to satisfy audits and various management requests, including for the payroll and stock functions. Supports management in the preparation of management reporting, financial analysis and financial statements. Ensures the accuracy of financial and management reporting by independently completing trend analyses and reconciliation of balance sheet balances with transactional ledgers. Reviews the accuracy of financial reports by analyzing variances between actuals and plan for significant and unusual activity. Maintains working knowledge of new GAAP pronouncements and may recommend changes to procedures and reporting in order to achieve compliance. Interfaces with internal and external auditors, government agencies, tax accountants, and other parties as needed. Responsible for the preparation and/or review of control activities to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, including conducting annual SSAE 16 SOC 1 reviews.

Maintains expertise in all current and pertinent compensation and stock related regulations and accounting pronouncements to advise management of recommended policy changes to ensure compliance. Manages and coordinates the preparation and compilation of financial schedules for annual income and other tax returns. Ensures the accurate completion of the Company’s payroll, including reviewing/processing salary adjustments, calculating overtime/shift/other payments, transferring funds to the 401k Plan for employee contribution and Company match, processing ESPP withholdings, calculating compensation and tax allocations for multi-state employees, and responding to employee inquiries. Ensures the accurate processing of the Company’s stock function, including the processing and/or review of daily stock option exercises, 10b5-1 plan stock option exercises, RSU releases, and ESPP transactions; calculating stock earnings allocations for multi-state employees; calculating taxes on domestic and foreign option and RSU activity; coordinating with internal and external parties on plan-related matters; assisting with the implementation stock plan changes; and responding to employee inquiries. Supports any computer system enhancements and implementations that might impact the financial and management reporting. Ensures compliance with IRS, FSLA, workers compensation, and various state and local agencies and reporting requirements.
