Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm (some flexability)
OT: Case by case basis

Summary:
Encompasses the application of scientific, mathematical, and statistical techniques in the determination of dimensions, quantity, or capacity of products or processes, mainly in the area of thermal analysis. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment using DSC/TGA methods. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Compiles customer reports from the data. Maintains clean and organized lab environment and practices good safety and laboratory practices. Makes requests to other characterization teams for additional testing and follows-up on dissemination of results.

Requirements:
Sound knowledge of job and a substantial acquaintance with the general aspects of the job. Intermediate level technical understanding. Implements standard procedures and proposes intermediate level modifications to improve workflow in a chemistry lab setting. Still generally obtains input to solve more complex problems. Works under general site supervision. Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures. Takes initiative in the area of continuous improvement. Uses some discretion. Contacts are typically within organization. May occasionally have contacts with others outside of the organization to seek clarity or ask for interpretation. Must display excellent written and oral communication skills as the job requires significant interaction with customers and other colleagues. Employs general knowledge of the MS Office suite including Word, Excel and Power Point. The candidate should be able to work well in a team setting, be adaptable to change. A previous knowledge of glass / ceramic /polymer systems is beneficial. Displays proficiency with small motor skills as small sample handling and preparation is required.

Education:
AAS required, BS desired

Experience: 1-5 years in a laboratory setting

PPE will be provided with the exception of Rx safety glasses

Manager Must Haves:
- Prior experience in a clean room/Lab setting
- Sounds understanding of the Scientific process
- Skilled in Microsoft Office
