System Test Engineer

As a member of the System Test Fixtures Group, the fixtures maintenance technician will provide support for system test fixtures as well as hand on assistance to engineers who build prototype test fixtures. The successful candidate will have strong hands on and technical skills to manage day to day support for care, maintenance, debug, repair and scheduling of several complex software and electromechanical System Test fixtures. The Fixtures maintenance technician will work hand in hand with a technical writer to support and test newly created documentation for systems test fixtures.
Maintain the system test fixtures and relevant equipment
Provide hands-on mechanical and electrical support for engineers building, operating and maintaining test fixtures
Assist with a wide variety of initial testing needs to vet out new and repaired fixtures
Essential Functions and Duties:
Maintain clean, organized space around fixtures
Track and organize tools and equipment as required by fixtures team
Work hands on with engineers to support the building, operating, and maintaining of test fixtures
Mechanical assembly
General wiring
Interfacing with software and data logs
General debugging of fixtures and tests
Perform general product testing as requested
Perform other duties as assigned

Skills Required:
Proficient with MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Word
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment where program plans, authority and responsibilities are ambiguous at times
A strong desire to learn
A strong attention to detail
Strong, natural mechanical aptitude
Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools used to assemble and update electromechanical systems (e.g. common hand tools, multimeters )
Desired Qualifications:
A background in the Mechanical and/or Electrical field
Experience with electromechanical assembly
Machining and/or woodworking experience
Familiarity with LabView interfaces
Experience with document creation in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Windows Operating Systems
