You will join a team of Fire Protection Engineers/Designers who work on a wide range of exciting and challenging projects including airports, aircraft storage and maintenance hangars, central utility plants, manufacturing and food processing plants, industrial and petroleum processing sites, state-of-the-art information technology facilities, educational and cultural facilities, and more.

As a Fire Protection Designer, in the Fire Protection Engineering Group, you will provide technical drafting and design support for the creation of construction documents for many fire and life safety systems including: wet, dry, preaction and deluge sprinkler systems, foam suppression, water spray, clean agent fire suppression systems, fire pumps, water tanks, standpipes, smoke management systems, building fire alarm systems, mass notification systems, and more. You will also be involved in building code and life safety code reviews, and the design of building egress and passive fire protection systems.

Produce construction drawings using AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP, Microstation, Smart Plant, PDS, and Revit.
Assist Engineers in design development and creation of specification of fire suppression and alarm systems on a wide variety of projects.
Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.
Assist in preparation of comprehensive fire protection packages including fire suppression, fire alarm, smoke evacuation, and life safety.
Apply sound engineering principles to assist in troubleshooting and solving client related problems.
Assist field personnel in resolving design related installation issues.

Candidates must have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in drafting technology with AutoCAD or Revit experience.
Highly motivated, possess a strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
Prior experience in consulting engineering is desirable.
Experience with Microstation, Smart Plant, SprinkCAD, and PDS is a plus.
NICET certification of Fire Alarm and/or Suppression is beneficial.
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Capable of successfully solving challenging problems which require the adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, or criteria.
Ability to take direction from and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
