Non-Exempt Position

Working Hours: Standard: 8am - 5pm; Monday - Friday; some flexibility may be needed

Summary: Encompasses the application of scientific and technological principles towards targeted research experimentation, and related development activities. Will work and coordinate their activities from interactions with two scientists. Typical processes anticipated for this position are running thin film deposition equipment, cleaning, washing, or laminating glass substrates, and related material-processing operations. Will coordinate sample preparation activities within Sullivan Park by providing samples to internal operations, and specifying procedures for cutting, shaping, and otherwise preparing basic materials. May conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of research as warranted.

Requirements:
  • Mechanical aptitude, or ability to learn.
  • Rudimentary electronic and electrical aptitude, while desirable, is not essential.
  • Good work ethic.
  • Intermediate level technical understanding is helpful, such as writing or implementing standard operating procedures, and compiling or simple fitting of data.
  • Able to gather information independently using established and defined procedures.
  • Uses some discretion. Contacts are typically within organization. May occasionally have contacts with others inside of the organization to seek clarity or ask for interpretation.
  • Familiarity with operation of research type equipment.
  • Good attention to detail. Ability to manage shifting between multiple tasks and equipment.
  • Desired Skills/Experience: Familiar with clean room environment and practices. Ability to troubleshoot and repair small scale lab equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Able to work with a diverse team. Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Education: AAS Desired
Experience: 3+ Years

Manager Must Haves:
- Sample Prep
- SOP writing
- Sounds Understanding of the Scientific method.
- Experience with Microsoft office tools
