Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):
Serves as a team member in implementing and supporting moderately complex new and/or revised processes, systems or networks. Reviews client requirements and recommends technology solutions that are cost effective and meet IT architecture standards. Acquires an understanding of user requirements and prepares progress reports for project/maintenance tasks. Develops system specifications, prototypes, and documentation in accordance with IS standards. Responsible for the completion and quality of assigned deliverables to ensure meeting department objectives.

Certification:
  • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) 
 Experience in/with:
  • Responding to customer incidents and restoring service (using documented process and work around)
  • Analyzing customer incidents and/or requests and reviewing and selecting the most appropriate plan to restore service
  • Documenting a complete solution (current assessment, gap analysis, proposed solution, bills of materials, configuration specifications, etc.
  • Mapping customer requirements to detailed solution design
  • Leveraging advanced monitoring tools to collect information and affect configuration changes
  • Establish networking environment by directing system installations; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.
  • Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with 3rd Level Network team.
  • Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Report network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information.
  • Configuration and daily support of Cisco NX-OS (7K, 5K, 2K)
  • Configuration and daily support of Cisco 36xx, 37xx, 38xx, 65xx, 4xxx, ASR1x
  • Cisco Wireless (Identity Services Engine (Client), Mobility Services Engine (MSE), Network Control System, Controllers, Aironet Access Points)
  • Meraki Wireless
  • LAN/WAN Routing Architecture and Protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP etc.)
  • Office Products (Visio, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Network Management Tools (I.E. Client Openview, Solar Winds, Ace Live, Gigamon, Netscout)
  • Infoblox – NetMRI
  • IPSEC – GRE Tunnels
  • SSL VPN
  • Packet Capture Tools
  • VIOP 
 Knowledge of: 
  •  Hardware and software languages and ITIL practices and frameworks
  • Advanced routers and switch (voice and data) features (e.g. advanced BGP routing, complex access lists, radius authentication, QOS and priority tagging, etc  
Work Environment: 
  • Works indoors in a temperature controlled office environment.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or applicable professional certification and/or two to four years relevant technical and analytical experience.
 Requirements include the same as previous in job family plus strong technical and analytic experience.
 
Experience in/with:
 
  • Supporting work/projects that require needs and cost/benefit analysis and resolution of changes in project scope
  • Analyzing, coding, documenting and testing technology products and systems.
  • Implementation and/or modification of current or new technology in order to meet business needs
  • Applying standard methodologies and analysis to problem solving
  • Developing technology documentation
  • Supporting work/projects that require needs and cost/benefit analysis and resolution of changes in project scope
  • Gathering business requirements and preparing business proposals for business lines
  • Evaluating hardware and software products and developing recommendations for management
 Knowledge of:
  • System operation practices
  • Security and control procedures
  • Computer technologies and multi-platform capabilities
 
Ability to:
  • Learn to use new concepts and technologies
  • Evaluate moderately complex problems/changes and understand the inter-dependencies between components
  • Develop solutions requiring analysis and research
Strong written communication skills, including, but not limited to, procedures and technical material preparation and presentation.
