Summary: Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. May assist in layout work.

Typical Tasks may include but are not limited to:
? Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
? Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
? Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or organizational personnel.
? Confer with stakeholders to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.
? Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
? Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
? Study drawings, specifications, and mockups to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
? Interview production and engineering personnel and read journals and other material to become familiar with pertinent technologies, processes and methods.
? Observe operational, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
? Arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.

? A minimum of five years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is desirable.
? Excellent knowledge of grammar and style.
? Ability to generate intuitive graphics and other written visual aids.
? Fluency in Microsoft Office (all applications, including PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Writer.
? Formal training (College level Communications, English, etc. course work) or equivalent experience in Technical Writing and/or Engineering discipline.
? Ability to work effectively both individually and in a group environment.
