Control System Monitor Specialist

General Position Overview:
This position is responsible for monitoring the operational performance of the Control System at the Dittmer Control Center, initiating necessary action to preserve the integrity and availability of these systems. Provides around-the- clock monitoring, analysis and resolution of problems or alarm conditions

Tasks: (may include any of the following)
? Respond to emergencies, such as transformer or transmission line failures.
? Control, monitor, or operate equipment that regulates or distributes electricity, using data obtained from instruments or computers.
? Coordinate with engineers, planners, field personnel, and other utility workers, providing information regarding system status, alarm conditions and problems.
? Monitor and record switchboard and control board readings to ensure that electrical distribution equipment is operating properly.

? Documenting/Recording Information - Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.

? Education Requirements - This position does not require a college degree, although a bachelor?s or associates degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable. Related training in a vocational school is highly desirable
? Related Experience ? 5- 9 years previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required.
? Job Training ? 4+ years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with other experienced workers in the same field.
? This position requires a sound operational and working knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, and precedents encompassing the major issues, program goals and objectives, work processes, and administrative operations associated with the Bonneville mission activity(ies) being performed by the organization.
