? Training and/or Associate Degree and additional years of experience as indicated.
? 7-9 years of experience

Summary: The contract worker shall provide onsite drawing support for the subject organization?s design packages. The contract worker will be expected to:
? Provide quality design, layout, and production of engineering, civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or fiber optic drawings.
? Perform necessary research using existing facility, standards, plan & profile, hardware, civil, and survey drawings.
? Assist in pre-engineering calculations and research in order to control product reliability and accuracy for engineering, technical, and commercial applications.

Typical Tasks may include but are not limited to:
? Produce drawings using computer-aided drafting equipment or conventional drafting stations, technical handbooks, tables, calculators, and traditional drafting tools, such as boards, pencils, protractors, and T-squares.
? Consult with engineering staff and other personnel to discuss and interpret design concepts, determine requirements of detailed working drawings and resolve problems.
? Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.
? Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects, working drawings, wiring diagrams, charts, forms and records based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
? Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
? Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent construction plans.
? Measure factors that affect installation and arrangement of equipment, such as distances to be spanned by wire and cable.
? Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are checked by an engineer or an architect.
? Review completed construction drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
? Determine quantity of required materials, and enter figures on materials lists.
? Obtain and assemble data to complete designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
? Locate files relating to specified design project in database library, load program into computer, and record completed job data.
? Examine electronic schematics and supporting documents to develop, compute, and verify specifications for drafting data, such as configuration of parts, dimensions, and tolerances.

Specific Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
? Perform duties essential to the preparation of engineering design drawings for Civil, Line Design, Substation Design, Telecommunication Design, Fiber Optic Design, including details, assemblies, installations, minor layouts, and parts lists.
? Organize and analyze drawings prior to setup and discuss project complexity and time estimates with technical and supervisory personnel.
? Perform assignments requiring expertise in computer-aided drafting using MicroStation CAD Software, including 3D.
? Perform sub-system user file management within CAD systems, such as plotting, printing, storage and retrieving and returning drawings from ProjectWise.
? Complete special projects such as various installation diagrams, structure modifications, design drawings, standard hardware details and others as required.
? Assist with various administrative duties, such as engineering record maintenance which includes keeping switching files updated, obtaining new drawing numbers, inputting drawing information into the organization?s CAD database at the various stages of the CAD process, and completing necessary forms to submit final drawings to central records.
? Check all CAD and manually drafted drawings and other documents for drafting accuracy and completeness; making necessary corrections before review by engineers and technicians.
? Create designs from engineers? idea notes and rough sketches through use of electronic files, drawing stick files, and central records vault.
? Maintain a thorough familiarity with industry and BPA standards as needed.
? May be assigned to maintain CAD Templates, including the Template database and associated SharePoint site.

? Successful completion of AutoCAD Training. Additional MicroStation Training is highly desirable.
