Education, Experience, Job Training:
? Requires relevant work experience in a related technical field. Bachelor?s degree in a technical or computer-related field is highly desirable.
? 10+ years relevant work experience required
Summary: A Network Administrator installs, configures, and supports an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Monitors network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability. May monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption. May assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software. May administer network security measures.
Typical Tasks may include but not limited to:
? Maintain and administer computer systems and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
? Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
? Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
? Plan, coordinate, and implement system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
? Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software.
? Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems.
? Load computer tapes and disks, and install software and printer paper or forms.
? Design, configure, and test computer hardware and operating system software.
? Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
? Confer with system users about how to solve existing system problems.

Experience with any of the following technology: Administration software & network management software; configuration management software - application management software, automated installation software, patch and update management software; network monitoring software; Network security or virtual private network VPN management software - intrusion prevention system software, network and system vulnerability assessment software, security incident management software; Transaction security and virus protection software - Encryption software, packet filter software, ping software, root kit detection software.
