We seek a Technical Writer or Editor to work with our Model Validators and Model Governance teams to ensure compliance with internal standards and templates for official documentation as well as the highest standards of written technical English. The candidate will:
- Work with other technical writers to improve and maintain RISK IRC documentation templates and standards to be used by the Model Validators.
- Review and edit model validation reports produced by the team for compliance with internal standards as well as to ensure the highest quality of written English as well as providing feedback on whether the validation work has been clearly communicated.
- Work with model governance to provide review editing for official policies and procedures and other documentation.
- On occasion provide training to new team members on the internal standards and templates as well as on general writing best practices.
This role does not require deep technical expertise in the specifics of modelling or model validation though sufficient technical and/or mathematical knowledge to be able to read and edit the non-technical aspects of the documentation is necessary. This role is not expected to review or challenge the specific validation conclusions or supporting analysis.
Minimum required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related field
  • Five or more years communications/writing experience in banking or financial services, banking operations. A writing sample is requested.
  • Uunderstanding of banking, financial topics and trends
  • Demonstrated strong capabilities in written communication
  • Planning, presentation and organization capabilities
  • Expert in MS Word and related tools
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of scientific, mathematical and/or finance related topics
Preferred qualifications:
  • Good knowledge MS SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of WDesk 
  • Degree with major, minor or demonstrable focus on quantitative subjects
