As a Linux Systems Engineer under the Systems Integration & Engineering Task Order, responsibilities will include:
?Provision, configure and maintain Linux systems, including routine and complex administration, security, patching, firewall, antivirus, backup/restore, etc.
?Provide engineering support to the FEMA Architecture, Engineering, and Enterprise Services branch
?Work with engineering teams to optimize system performance, including applications, network, storage, database and server technology
?Solve complex technical systems issues, including OS, web server, database server, applications server, DNS, LDAP, SMTP, etc.
?Develop process and technical documentation, including systems architecture diagrams
?Diagnose, isolate, troubleshoot, and solve technical issues
?Provide assistance with automation of software installation processes
?Create, test, and maintain Linux shell scripts
?Analyze systems to determine technical requirements that satisfy business requirements
?Lead the evaluation, selection and deployment of new technologies and tools on Linux platform
?Ensure completeness and compatibility of the technical infrastructure to support system performance
?Perform technical analysis and review of new technologies and identify potential benefits to the FEMA enterprise.
?Participate in requirements working sessions and perform code reviews
?Support project management tasks across multiple simultaneous project deployments.
?Troubleshoot and provide solutions to production issues
?Generate weekly technical team status reports in accordance with standard processes.
?Coordinate the review, presentation and release of design layouts, project plans, analysis and other technical team documentation.
?Ensure deliverables are prepared to meet IBM standards and in accordance with contractual obligations.
?Ensure deliverables are prepared in IBM format to satisfy the project requirements, costs and schedule.
?Brief senior leadership on the technical status of projects and tasks.
1. 5-7 years years of UNIX / Linux administration
2. 5+ years of HTML, Linux shell scripting (perl, Bash, Korn) SSL certificates, and system design.
3. 3+ years experience with FTP/S, SMTP/S, HTTP/S, SSH, Apache/Tomcat, networking, VPN (SSL and IPSec), LDAP, DNS, networking
4. Excellent analytical and design skills at multi-product / multi-environment level
Preferred Skills - with years of experience needed
1. System engineering (5-7 years)
2. Linux/Shell scripting (5-7 years)
3. ITIL methodology exposure (2-3 years)
4. Application Deployment Experience (3-5 years)
5. Experience on-site with Client (3-5 years)

Provide primary job duties:
