Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a detail oriented individual with experience working with relational databases and query skills to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Mclean Virginia.

The qualified applicant will be working with Northrop Grumman's MedDRA MSSO (Maintenance and Support Services Organization), which is on its 18th year of maintaining a medical terminology used globally by health authorities and the biopharmaceutical industry.

MedDRA (Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities) is a medical terminology used to classify adverse event information associated with the use of biopharmaceuticals and other medical products (e.g., medical devices and vaccines). The MSSO serves as the repository, maintainer, and distributor of MedDRA as well as the source for the most up-to-date information regarding MedDRA. The MSSO is seeking a detailed oriented individual that has experience with relational databases and corresponding tools to maintain the MedDRA data files in multiple languages. This technical analyst position requires attention to detail, working independently and being able to quickly understand the MSSO terminology maintenance processes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

? Learn and understand the MSSO business process and workflow as they pertain to terminology maintenance
? Understand and work with the MedDRA file schema
? Maintain the MedDRA data sets in 11 languages using internal tools and COTs software such as MS Excel and MS Access
? Develop, maintain and execute queries and reports related to terminology maintenance quality control processes
? Understanding report / query output and when actions need to be taken from a quality control perspective
? Prepare information on MedDRA term changes for review by physicians
? Answer questions from external users about MedDRA change requests
? Assist with testing internally developed software tools



Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

? College degree or at least 3 to 5 years working with relational databases and developing queries to produce customized reports.
? Experience performing detail oriented tasks
? Information technology savvy individual with good written and oral communication skills
? Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office especially MS Excel and MS Access

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: ? Some experience developing and normalizing relational databases ? Knowledge of SQL or similar query languages (e.g., as used in MS Access) ? Knowledge and proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Visual basic) to support complex queries ? College degree preferred
