Jr, Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Philadelphia ***Must work on-site***Non local candidates must relocate at on their own expense***
This position will be responsible primarily for Hardware certification & QA for Cable devices such as modems, routers, STBs etc. Experience working in the cable industry is a plus
•He or she will assist in running Physical & Environmental QA tests on devices
•He or she will also be required to install, wire, maintain & manage lab equipment (includes Devices Under Test and Test Equipment)
•He or she will also be required to rack and provision Headend equipment and servers including physical installation, wire various types of network connections, and connect the equipment to power
•He or she will create and maintain detailed wiring diagrams lab systems.
•Past experience in certifying devices in companies such as Pace, Cisco, Technicolor, Ubee, the client, Harmonic, Elemental is a plus
•Past Experience working in hardware labs or network operation centers with Cable MSO such as Comcast, Charter, Cablevision, Altice is a plus
Tools & Equipment:
• Will be part of a Hardware QA team
•The candidate will be working with Mechanical Test equipment such as: Temperature and humidity chamber, UV tester, shaker machine
•LabView programming skill
•Hardware certification of devices in the telecom space, preferably cable.
•Hardware testing of devices in the telecom space, preferably cable
•Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
•Knowledge of RF/Microwave fundamentals.
•The candidate will also be working with Electrical RF Test equipment such as: Call box, Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power meters. Knowledge of RF is desired but not essential
•Experience with or knowledge of environmental test equipment (temperature and humidity chamber, UV tester, shaker machine)
•Ability to thrive in a fast-paced engineering development lab environment.
•LabView programming skills.
•Experience controlling test equipment thru GPIB
•Ensure lab cleanliness and identify any safety concerns
•Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity
•Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues
•Report to the Engineering manager on a regular basis on the status of the Lab.
•Create LabView programs and required documentation to support test systems.
•Modify existing LabView data acquisition software.
•Perform RF-Power measurements, Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and data analysis.
•Perform S-parameter measurements using VNA.
•Perform RF-Tx and Rx measurements such as Max power, ACLR, Rx sensitivity using call box.
•Installation of cable TV Headend equipment including RF distribution equipment
•Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment.
•Ability to read wiring diagrams of varying complexity (cable and connector types: RG59, RG6, mini coax and twisted pair cables)
•Travel between labs may be required.
Desired Skills and Experience
•Familiarity with SCTE, WIFI, Cable TV standards
•Basic assembly skills.
•Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Visio.
