***On-site at client location in Downingtown, PA - All candidates must be willing to work at client location**

This position will be responsible primarily for the installation of wiring, maintenance and management of the lab and automation room. He or she will be expected to oversee all activities in both areas and insure that work is up to the standards of the lab operations department. He or she will also be required to rack and provision Headend equipment and servers including physical installation, wire various types of network connections, and connect the equipment to power. He or she will create and maintain detailed wiring diagrams and rack elevations of lab systems. The employee will be required to work with vendors to ensure the proper configuration of Headend systems and devices. He or she will be required to build RF distribution systems and IP communication networks. Each equipment environment consists of different specifications, necessitating the ability to adapt to changing requirements and new technology.

•Report to the Engineering manager on a regular basis on the status of the Lab.
•Communicate with various groups and explain the challenges of their request and suggest viable options.
Provide diagrams of the existing RF plant.
•Monitor the cooling and power requirements of the space.
•Determine proper placement of new equipment coming into the lab.
•Capable of making and dressing coax and Ethernet cables in labs or production environments
•Follow wiring standards in performing physical layer cabling installations
•Ability to read wiring diagrams of varying complexity (cable and connector types:
•RG59, RG6, mini coax and twisted pair cables)
•Installation of cable TV Headend equipment including RF distribution equipment
•Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment.
•Ability to troubleshoot physical layer issues, identify the root cause and determine ownership of problems. Ability to analyze and validate issues written by others
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks for efficient work output
•Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs
•Review and provide input to new technical requirements
•Ability to engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and identify future needs
•Provide a Bill of Material for equipment required to meet future requirements
•Ensure lab cleanliness and identify any safety concerns
•Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity
•Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues
•Travel between labs may be required.

Technical Requirements
•Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Visio.
•Experience with RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers and RF meters.
•Proficient headend knowledge including cabling, trunk and distribution networks
•Knowledge of IP networks and equipment
•Ability to prioritize multiple tasks for efficient work output
•Adapt to changing priorities, strong sense of urgency, willing to attack difficult and complex issues
•Experienced with forward and return path troubleshooting.
•Knowledgeable in Fiber and RF technologies and troubleshooting techniques
•Demonstrated ability to work with both technical and non-technical individuals, in gathering information and communicating about projects or issues.
•Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
•Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner.
•Self-motivated with desire for continuous learning

•15+ years of cable or telecom industry experience
•15+ years experience in Co, Headend and /or NOC environments
•Experience with cable TV or telecommunications industry is desired
•Experience managing a headend or data center facility
