 Key Responsibilities/ Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

 
  • Very strong Java experience, including but not limited to: annotations, generics, reflection, collections, class loading, resources, javadoc, JAXB, JAX-WS, and JAX-RS.
  • Analysis and debugging skills. The ability to use diagnostic tools such as debuggers, profilers, stack traces, and logs to analyze and correct problems.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written. Team members are often required to contribute to the product wiki site, javadoc, and other documentation, and to interact with customers, product leadership, and management.
  • Strong XML and Json skills, including knowledge and experience with JAXB, Schemas, and Jackson or other json mapping technologies.
  • Experience with, and ability to use, factory, proxy, adapter, builder, singleton, and facade design patterns and their implementation in java.
  • Experience with Linux. Must be able to SSH onto Linux servers, be comfortable running commands, and capable of creating new and modifying existing Linux scripts.
  • Self directed, motivated, operate with general direction and supervision, ability to learn new things rapidly, and the ability and willingness to "dig things out " for themselves.

  • Desired Skills:
  • Experience with eclipse and its tools for development, debugging, and construction.
  • Experience with Maven with demonstrated understanding of the role of the POM, plugins, lifecycle bindings, and hierarchical projects.
  • Experience with Cassandra or an equivalent no-sql database technology, or with relational databases and JDBC.
  • Knowledge of advanced data structures such as graphs, specifically directed acyclic graphs (DAG)
  • Data modeling using Cassandra
  • Building maven plugins
  • Experience with Jenkins and managing build jobs, or equivalent CI/CD tools
  • Experience with or understanding of UML
  • Experience with RESTful API design and development.
  • Experience with JMX
  • Experience with and use of Subversion and Git
  • Experience with IaaS cloud providers such as Openstack, AWS, VMware, Azure, or others
