Key Responsibilities:
  • Under broad supervision, inventory, document and prepare servers, computers, and mobile devices, for deployment or salvage.
  • Performs necessary maintenance to support system availability, and on a continuing basis provides user training and support either by phone, remote access or site visit.
  • Configures, and tests computer hardware, networking software and operating system software Diagnoses hardware and software problems, replace defective components.
  • Escalates problems to vendor and/or developer for advanced debugging or software correction.
  • Evaluates new technologies or solutions to improve service and efficiency of systems.
  • Monitors network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made.
  • Operates consoles to monitor performance of the computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
  • Performs data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Performs routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Participates in research and stays abreast of technological advances suitable for addressing the systems requirements of customers.
  • Disseminates new product information to users, managers, and other system personnel.
  • Assists staff members in evaluating current and future directions of systems by applying knowledge, concepts, and ideas gained from participation in meeting and committees.
  • Applies technical knowledge to meet business needs and requirements.
  • Â Plans, coordinates, and implements network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Sets up accounts for new employees and closes accounts when no longer necessary.
  • Increases account capacity when existing blocks are insufficient for work requirements.
  • Establishes port connections for all new equipment to the network as needed.
  • Sets up print queues and resolves network problems in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Limits user access to specific areas per user needs.
  • Prepares user instructions and documentation for the installation and operation of software and software upgrades.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Two years of related experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: CompTA A+, Microsoft MCP.
