Rate: $70/hr c2c
ARINC/Rockwell Collins has an immediate need for an IT Systems /Storage Architect for a 3 month contract with possible extension located in Carrollton, TX.

Note from the manager- There is a possibility of extension if the candidate possesses usable skills other than storage architecture which is the primary need right now. UCS would be a big plus!

documenting and implementing a NetApp NAS solution, including set up of NetApp SnapManager, NetApp Data Storage performance tuning, NetApp Disaster Recovery Planning, NetApp Custer Mode, and NetApp Virtualization expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participating cooperatively on a team of IT engineering specialists.
  • Performing system design, hardware/software implementation and integration, and general infrastructure support.
  • Preparing documentation for current and future systems projects.
  • Engineering, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and deploying VMware infrastructures, including Backup & Disaster Recovery.
  • Design and recommend network solutions to integrate with current and planned infrastructure
  • Identify and implement high availability architectures for infrastructure processes that are identified to have single points of failure
  • Provide advice and consulting support to the project teams directly or through team members
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery processes to accelerate provisioning of new systems
  • Collaborate with other IMS team members to ensure designs are aligned with project requirements
  • Identify the required network architecture components and frameworks. Prioritize the architecture deliverables and establish short term, mid-term and long term plans

Location of Work:

This position shall be based in Carrollton, TX

Required Experience:
  • NetApp NAS installation, configuration and moderate troubleshooting, including the configuration of snap mirror relationships, and documentation of shut down and start up procedures for system relocation.
  • Advanced skills in engineering system architectures and maintaining VM infrastructure.
  • Hands on networking experience specifically with Cisco technology.
  • Experience designing and documenting process and procedures.
  • At least 8 years of experience in network engineering strategy, architecture, design, and implementation in complex enterprise level networks
  • Proven Experience with VMware Network Virtualization
  • Proven Experience with VMware Data Center Virtualization
  • Proven Experience with Server Virtualization with Windows Server Hyper-V and System Center
  • Proven Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
  • Familiarity with network tools for readiness assessment and advanced troubleshooting

Education Requirements:
  • A BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an additional 3-5 years of equivalent technical experience
  • An MCSA, MCITP, or recent MCSE certification
  • Security+ certification
  • VMWare Certification
  • NetApp Clustered Data-on-Tap Certification
