The Database Administrator will be responsible for the support of a number of SQL Server databases (versions 2005 to 2016) and one IBM DB2 database (this is an old version of DB2 that is no longer supported by IBM). The successful candidate will become involved in databases throughout their lifecycle from project inception to ongoing support and decommissioning of the databases.
  • Must have experience properly installing SQL Server
  • Provide complete database life cycle support for critical DB2 database using various DB2 tools and techniques.
  • Pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of the issues.
  • Participate in regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements.
  • Configure and maintain SQL database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
    • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
    • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
    • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
    • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 6-8 years SQL server experience.(versions 2005 to 2016)
  • 3 years of DB2 DBA experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Administer databases through full application life cycle, development, testing, and production.
  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of database tuning: software configuration, memory usage, data access, data manipulation, SQL, and physical storage.
