Project Scope:
PGIM Investments Technology organization is actively pursuing a Senior Technical Analyst resource with deep data modeling and architecture experience to help drive the execution of a technology modernization effort including moving from a legacy mainframe environment and leveraging newer technologies and infrastructure capabilities.  The Senior Technical Analyst a key technical role for implementing modern business solutions leveraging modern application development, integration, and data solutions available within the organization as well as for external customers.  The Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for both low-level decomposition, reverse engineering and documentation of current state data flows and transformations as well as high-level modeling and design of the target state data design.  The candidate will play a key role in defining the application and data architecture on a large initiative to migrate legacy systems from mainframe to distributed and cloud environments. The candidate will possess strong technical skills and take a methodical approach to come up with efficient solutions to solve application development technical challenges.
  • Create detailed technical documentation of all existing data flows including embedded business rules and transformations for complex, legacy applications
  • Identify opportunities to leverage more modern processes and technologies to more efficiently and effectively manage the flow of data
  • Determines, defines, and documents/maps system specifications as well as process improvements that may include User Stories, Use Cases, Logical Models, Activity, Sequence, State Transition & Process Flow Diagrams, Report Specifications and Data Mapping & Flow Diagrams.
  • Prepares business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications including key requirements aspects like traceability, reusability.
  • Uses business modeling such as UML (Unified Modeling Language) or Business Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN) to convert requirements into different types of 'models' or 'diagrams', each of which describes a particular aspect of the requirements.
  • Work with architects, developers, business analysts and subject matter experts to understand the complex technological system and migrate mainframe technologies to distributed and cloud platform
  • Develop and build data strategy to improve data quality and operational efficiencies.
  • Enable enhanced reporting capabilities including business intelligence dashboards and data visualization software
  • Preparing and presenting potential technical solutions and advising the business on the technical and business value of the proposition
  • Providing architecture and technology support across a range of technologies including but not limited to Cloud, Mobile/Web frameworks, .net, SQL, Tableau, Informatica, TFS and Collaboration platforms
  • Keeping up-to-date on new technology, standards, protocols and tools in areas relevant to the rapidly changing digital environment

Skills/Qualifications Required:
This right candidate will be a knowledgeable, hands-on technologist with a strong background in data modeling, data warehousing and ETL development, Additional expertise in the areas of application architecture and business intelligence solutions is a plus.  Candidate will be part of a team responsible for establishing, driving, and implementing architectural principles and guidelines for information technology systems in accordance to business needs and adherence to corporate technology standards. Candidate must be able to make influencing recommendations to business and technology partners on data architecture, modeling and design.
  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Financial Services experience (Mutual Fund background preferred) with a proven track record of delivering multiple projects on-time, on budget and within scope
  • 7+ years of IT experience with several years in hands on Data Architecture, Modeling and Strategy
  • 5+ years of experience with Information Services data solutions implementation
  • 5+ years of experience with Enterprise Data warehouse design and implementation
  • 5+ years of experience with data architecture across a broad range of solutions
  • 5+ years of experience with data management or data integration/conversion
  • 5+ years of experience with data modeling, using industry standard tools (i.e. ER Studio, Enterprise Architect, CA Erwin etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with Enterprise Architecture and Data Governance
  • Prior hands on experience with data management platforms used at Prudential (MS SQL, Oracle, IBM Cognos, Tableau to name a few)
  • Current Industry knowledge of forward looking data technologies (Big Data, Hadoop, MongoDB, In memory DB's and streaming data)
  • Broad knowledge of Agile project methodology (SAFe) and ITIL best practices
  • Master Data Management platforms and practices preferred
  • Experience with Cloud computing concepts (private, public and hybrid) a plus
  • Experience with CRM tools (SalesForce) and Sales Reporting tools a plus
