Develops stand-alone software within all phases of the SDLC and design the multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large software system.

Job Duties include:
Software design
• Actual core implementation (programming which is often the most important portion of software development)
• Other required implementations (e.g. installation, configuration, customization, integration, data migration)
• Participation in software product definition, including business case or gap analysis Specification • Requirements analysis
• Development and refinement of throw-away simulations or prototypes to confirm requirements
• Feasibility and cost–benefit analysis, including the choice of application architecture and framework, leading to the budget and schedule for the project
• Authoring of documentation needed by users and implementation partners etc.
• Testing, including defining/supporting acceptance testing and gathering feedback from pre-release testers
• Participation in software release and post-release activities, including support for product launch evangelism (e.g. developing demonstrations and/or samples) and competitive analysis for subsequent product build/release cycles

Maintenance
• Perform analysis, design enhancements and modifications
• Familiarity with Windows environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
• Flexible, able to work off hours or weekends when requiredWrite and debug complex programs and subroutines using SQL DB, .NET, VB or C/C++
• Analyze and recommend alternative solutions for system enhancement and problem resolution projects
• Solid knowledge of SQL and .NET
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management Information Systems or related field • Professional designations preferred: CISA, CISM, CISSP, CIA, CPA
• 7-10+ years of related work experience

We need a full time person to support the NewPOS project.

Experience setting up Point of Sale registers (hardware and software) based on Microsoft
Operating Systems, and their peripherals
Basic networking skills – understands how registers are connected to servers via switches, firewall requests, etc.
Troubleshooting skills
Server maintenance skills including using VM
Experience configuring thin clients.
Scripting skills

Candidate must be willing to move hardware within the lab (we have the appropriate tools to do the lifting), be flexible in terms of work duties, have good time management and communication skills.

We need someone who can work with the NewPOS project team to figure out what they need, and then do it. Must be a self-starter.
