Describe your team:
This position is for a SharePoint Project Manager within Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) function. I&O is a part of our Business, Process & Technology (BPT) organization, contributing to the overall IT success.
 
We are looking for a highly energetic and seasoned Project Manager who will work in a global organization, delivering complex IT projects in support of both business and BPT. The selected candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills; with ability to communicate accurately and concisely to both project team members and to senior leaders & stakeholders. He/she will demonstrate a sense of urgency and decisiveness; take prompt action to accomplish goals; and proactively influence events and outcomes. The individual will be able to manage work and timelines across multiple functions and regions, while maintaining strong and positive working relationships across these diverse groups.
In addition, the project manager will track and reconcile financials in support of projects; engage resources and gain commitment from multiple teams and vendors with clear alignment on priorities.
 
Principle Accountabilities:
  • Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) control guidelines established at SCJ. Align project management assignments with required ITIL processes, i.e. Change and Release management.
  • Full project lifecycle ownership; from initiation through deployment and closeout within defined timelines, budgets, and success criteria.
  • Prepare realistic estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
  • Work with cross functional partners to define project scope and success criteria. Manage project scope, change management and communication.
  • Meet specific financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing a project budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Manage relationships and contractual obligations with project related external suppliers.
  • Engage and coordinate across multiple IT and Business functions in execution of the projects.
  • Provide conflict management and resolution for projects. Manage project escalation, risk and issue resolution and communication.
  • Establish project risk assessments and mitigation plans.
  • Leverage creative and analytical techniques to enable problem-solving with the spirit of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Create good working relationships across the project team and stakeholders. Coach, mentor, and motivate project teams. Address team concerns and constraints. Build trust among the project stakeholders. Establish a positive experience for anyone connected to the project.
  • Develop and deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication. Ensure alignment with Senior Leadership through regular project stakeholder communication and milestone updates.
  • Demonstrate acumen on how solutions will meet requirements. Understand the interdependencies between technology and business needs.
Specific Requirements:
  • Execution Excellence. The ability to drive and maintain accountability for commitments. Plan, implement and continuously improve processes to meet timelines, budget and performance objectives.
  • Highly proactive and result-oriented with proven track record of success in all phases of project delivery.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations, to impact project direction through influence and collaboration.
  • Technical and application project management is required. Ideally, experience would include Project Management of a large on premise SharePoint upgrade/migration to Office365.
  • Infrastructure project management is desired. Examples would include (but are not limited to) experience leading network and hosting lifecycle refreshes, datacenter initiatives, global site builds/moves, and supporting warehouse/manufacturing initiatives with technology integration.
  • Broad technical background and experiences with ability to quickly learn new technologies; to enable candidate to anticipate, address and mitigate issues early and throughout the project.
  • Adept at working productively across multiple teams, including external vendors & suppliers.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the original project plan; effectively communicates changes or delays to team members and key stakeholders.
  • Independently, and working with others, able to generate new, innovative ideas and related technologies to improve value and reduce costs.
  • Demonstrated high level of curiosity, creativity, and strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders. Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Builds strong working relationships with leaders and stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus and achieve objectives.
  • Works well under pressure and comfortable with change and complexity in dynamic environment. Proven ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Ability to shift between "big picture” and the small-but-critical details, depending on audience and desired outcomes.
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems/Technology.
  • PMI (PMP) or equivalent Certification.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant job experience with at least 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience leading cross functional projects against demanding timelines. Microsoft Project experience required. Microsoft PWA (Project Web App) experience is beneficial.
  • Experience in traditional and agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience working with a global team (timezone, geographical location).
  • Experience working in a mature PMO with formal process, stage gates, reporting, financial tracking, etc.
  • Experience navigating the intricacies of international procurement of hardware and services.
  • General knowledge of ITIL with experience working/implementing in organizations that have implemented ITIL.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, challenge and influence peers.
  • Passion for project based execution and process improvement.
