The responsibilities are to install, support, update and maintain all Server(s) hardware and Software located throughout SHTC. Maintenance of Active Directory structures as well as Group Policies for the entire plant site staff. Responsible for all LAN components including all software, hardware and troubleshooting. Assists the PC Support Technician in the maintenance of all personal computers. Provides backup for PC Support functions. Assists the MIS Systems Administrator with tasks as required. Administration of Bentley APM Thick and Thin Clients. This position has a reporting structure to the Supervisor, Systems Administration.
This position operates within a COR, ISO 17025 certified, and OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 conforming plant environment and is expected to comply with all regulatory requirements. The facility operates on a 24/7 basis.

The duties of the Network Administrator are as follows, but not limited to:
  • Understands and promotes the Company's, the Division's, the Plant's, and the Department's mission statement, values, and strategic goals.

Complies with all health and safety policies, standards, and procedures to achieve a safe work environment and safety for all staff and visitors as well as the Company's, Client's and Regulatory Agencies safe work objectives and requirements.

  • Maintains confidentiality to comply with all regulatory requirements and Company Privacy and Confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Safely operates company owned, leased, or rented vehicles and/or mobile equipment. Incumbent is required to perform Safety Sensitive duties and responsibilities.
  • Administration of the System Centre Configuration Management (SCCM)
  • Administration of the Windows 2008/2012 servers
  • Administration of APM Thick and Thin Clients
  • Check Server Backup Logs
  • Check server Event and Error Logs
  • Upgrade Server hardware and software
  • Perform upgrades on server based applications
  • Assists in resolving workstation setup/implementation issues
  • Performs major server upgrades
  • Assists on all upgrades and/or replacements of desktops
  • Assists in developing MIS Policies, MIS Procedures, MIS Standards
  • Assists in the training of staff
  • Recommends acquisition of new MIS related components
  • Cross train with PC Support Technician on critical systems
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area
  • Training of Users
  • Be on call
  • Participate in Team Development and Conflict Resolution

  • Attend safety meetings on a monthly basis

Formal Education Required:
  • Technical School or Community College Diploma.
  • Applicable Experience Required: Minimum of 5 years' related experience. Preference for 6 to 8 years' related experience. Previous experience within an industrial plant environment is a definite asset.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Talents required: 3 - 5 year's hands on application administration experience in System Centre Configuration Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications
  • Hands on experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Must demonstrate strong experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining current Windows server products including Microsoft SQL 2005/2008/2012/2014, IIS, Windows Failover Clustering, w Working knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2016
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010/16 and Windows 7/10
  • Knowledge of Web Services and Services Oriented Architecture is desirable
