Space Planner
Onsite in Emeryville, CA
12 Month Contract
W2 Only


-Responsible for developing & managing space request solutions in an office, lab & manufacturing environment.
-Additionally responsible for implementation of small/light projects as required within the Facilities Management Department.
-This includes the management of external suppliers, internal functions & company resources (assets,
finances).
-Liaison with customer group(s) to ensure facilities planning, project/moves execution & operations activities align with needs.
-Manages space requests in an office, lab & manufacturing environment.
-The space planner will be internal client-facing & will work autonomously to identify, coordinate, plan space & programming services on multiple projects.
-Coordinates with different support departments, facility space & personnel move requests while developing & implementing solutions.
-Understands & is able to execute move coordination (equipment/people) & vendor management.
-Ability to maintain Inventory management
-Executes coordination of seismic bracing
-Coordinates space tracking & updates maps
-Establishes & maintains relationships with various internal lines of business to understand their requirements & the impacts to the campus master plan.
-Leads meetings to report on occupancy issues, challenges, opportunities & potential solutions.
-Leads small/light projects, providing direction to lower-level Associates &/or consultants as needed.
-Guides tactical implementation of customer requested facilities changes
-Oversees & coordinates all aspects of simultaneous, ongoing light construction projects including;
Feasibility study
Scope definition/user requirements
Funding request preparation & presentation
Detailed design/engineering
Consultant/vendor management
Cost/Schedule monitoring & forecasting
Construction oversight
Project close-out & turnover to operations/user groups
Cross-functional support group coordination & program input
Subject matter expert in the area of interiors & furniture specifications
Any other activities as directed by the Manager, Facility Project Management or Director, Facilities Management

Negotiating & listening skills, with proficiency in change management & conflict resolution skills.
Works both independently & as part of multi-functional teams.
Strong organizational planning, & understanding of project management concepts
Technical experience in biotech / research unit operations
General understanding of utility drawings (mechanical, plumbing/piping, electrical, architectural)
Familiarity with current industry technology & trends
Ability to handle multiple projects at one time
Excellent interpersonal effectiveness & communication skills (written & oral).
Proficient in MS Word, Project, PowerPoint, & Excel
Understanding of AutoCAD, & ability to utilize Revit
This position will be based in Emeryville, CA.
