6 Months Contract
DAILY BASIS: Banking centres, mortgage advisors, AML and internal business partners
Must be analytical
  • Must have attention to detail - will need to "dot all the i's and cross all the t's"
  • Basic Excel knowledge - will need to be comfortable with protected cells and formulas. No pivots or v-lookups.
  • Excellent communication skills as they will be using both written and verbal communication in their daily dealings
  • Bilingual

  • AML KYC, EDD exposure
Business Controls manages operational risk, regulatory supervision, standardized testing, and sales monitoring and loss management for PSB & CC&I across Canada. This person will be reviewing "smart" forms - the work is very administrative and repetitive. The manager will assign other duties as well - to mix it up a bit.
  • Effectively identify additional client information required for AML exception processes such as ID Exceptions, PEPs by following documented procedures.
  • Based on standardized guidelines outlined in procedures, make approval decisions.
  • Communicate directly with Banking Centres to obtain additional information for each account using standard email templates.
  • Through experience and observation, provide recommendations for best practices, which can be utilized by other members of the team, as part of a "knowledge sharing” activity and to ensure consistency in our approach in the management of work.
  • Ensure accuracy of work and demonstration of due diligence in the review of each request
  • Escalate any unusual cases and situations outside of documented procedures to Manager to determine course of action.
  • Document rationale on status of each file and rationale of decision based on the procedures.
  • Meet SLA timelines as outlined by Manager.
  • Conduct BAT on regulatory initiatives to ensure processes will work as designed.
  • Work on ad-hoc initiatives to support continuous improvements and identify best practice opportunities within given role and area of accountability.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of software and technology tools such as ECIF, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to deliver timely and accurate reporting
  • Ability to meet SLA timelines and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work autonomously or in a team environment
  • Ability to remain current in relevant subject/function area, industry and organizational knowledge including knowledge of relevant risk practices, principles and technologies
TRAINING: will be side by side training - buddy
  • High school Diploma
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in a financial services company is a plus
