Reston, VA / Herndon, VA / Arlington, VA (need to be flexible to go to multiple offices as needed)


Key Role Functions
  • Work within the core delivery team empowered with design, development, modification, and implementation of computer applications
  • Building high performing delivery teams.  Serve as Scrum Master for 1 -2 scrum teams concurrently
  • Interface and build collaborative relationship with the Product Owner and Technical Lead
  • Utilize project coordination expertise and tools such as Rally  and JIRA to support teams throughout SDLC
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies for the team (Daily Stand-up, Planning, Retrospective, Grooming & Review/Demo)
  • Facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner
  • Track team progress and produce key metrics (e.g., burndown, burnup, cumulative flow, velocity, etc.)
  • Act as a conduit to other teams and LOBs with which the team is interacting
  • Align teams to the goals of the Agile Principles and Scrum Values
  • Ensure adherence to Agile Values and Principles and the chosen framework such as Scrum or XP
  • Enforce the agreed upon cadence and coordination activities
  • Facilitate cadence and coordination across Scrum teams
  • Mentor and train team members in Agile best practices
Education                                      
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred MBA or Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
Certifications: Scrum Master Certified                                                                                        
                                                                                                   
Minimum Experience
6-8 years of software development experience (either as a PM, BA, tester or developer)
5+ years' experience leading Agile Scrum teams/serving as a Scrum Master
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
  • Agile experience/knowledge of key Agile frameworks including Kanban, Lean, XP, and Scrum
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
