Overview:
  • The Research Associate is under general supervision, the scope of this position is responsible for assisting senior scientific staff in carrying out moderately complex research assignments involving a variety of laboratory methods, equipments and procedures.
  • This position is a part of a team focused on product research and development: producing drug test components and is critical in transferring the excellent quality of Branan Medical's products on a manufacturing scale.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Track and order raw materials, chemicals and lab supplies for the solutions of the individual research topics.
  • Understand process performance in production and able to correlate and adjust the research solution to production process performance.
  • Able to follow directions and procedures when directed by the superiors.
  • Build competency in the use and maintenance of process equipment.
  • Able to troubleshoot if performance deviates from the expected result.
  • May be developing and establishing new procedures; ability to write the new procedures.
  • When directed by supervisor, assist where help is needed.
  • Interact with other departments to discuss lab results and reports. Record all data in the documents.
  • Willing to work with the organization's goals for services and related services to provide customer satisfaction, and ensure the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
  • Able to interact well with diverse groups within the organization; a team player.
  • Learn and have a basic understanding of government regulation such as FDA, GMP, ISO certifications.
  • Analyze extensive data sets and communicate a summary of their analysis effectively.
Experience and Education:
BS degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or related field Bachelor degree candidates will have at least 1 year of laboratory research experience.
Knowledge of Design Control and experience working in a regulated environment are advantageous.
Basic knowledge of antibody and antigen reactions.
Experience in assay optimization and experimental design is preferred.
Strong lab skills focused on optimization of unit operations such as reactions, extractions, membrane separations, chromatography, centrifugation, filtration, drying.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
