We are looking for a contractor to start with our People Engineering team ASAP!

The contractor will work with the existing FTE team to provide Tier 1 support to COMPANY'S 3,500+ employees, handling requests related to People Engineering tools including: Birdhouse, Falquora, Maps, Roster, Visitor, Go, Portfolio, Employee Service, and Promo/Loop. In addition, this role will support select feature migration to third party tools like Workday and Adobe Experience Manager.

The contractor will work closely with key COMPANY stakeholders and will perform the following activities:
  • Log and categorize incidents and service requests
  • Provide issue resolution and follow-up for Tier 0/Tier 1 support queries
  • Update and create knowledge base articles or other forms of documentation
  • Escalate issues that cannot be resolved to COMPANY development teams
  • Participate in training relevant to providing support after a change has been made in the environment
  • Perform root cause analysis as appropriate
  • Review performance and ticket volume monthly with the COMPANY Effective Tools lead
  • Support resolving tickets working collaboratively with COMPANY
  • Update support and ticket related documentation in COMPANY Support System.
  • Provide weekly status reports.
  • Deploy and/or restart tools listed above
  • Make small code modifications to tools listed above
  • Upgrade Ruby and/or Rails versions including gems as needed for maintenance of tools listed above
  • Create data dumps or transformations from MySQL databases as needed
  • Third-party data migration or integration

Desired Skills:
  • Languages: Ruby on Rails, React.js, and Angular.js
  • Experience in Software Configuration Management (SCM) using git and github
  • Experience using JIRA based tool for ticketing
  • Application support and strong troubleshooting knowledge
  • Continuous deployment experience
  • Experience in working with Ruby on Rails and React.js based development environments

Education:
Bachelors degree preferred
