Content Strategy Manager

Job Description:
You help to lead the overall content strategy for your clients' cross-channel content initiatives. You collaborate with creative and technical teams as well as subject matter experts across product lines to understand and help support strategic business objectives and customer requirements by:
  • Lead a team of 4 content strategists and 1 copywriter.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of how customers interact with our web platforms, using data to determine how to solve customer problems and make our messaging even more compelling.
  • Use strong data analysis skills, including the ability to work with technical analysts to make sure the right data is being collected to evaluate content performance.
  • Define content strategies to drive creation of clear, compelling copy.
  • Ensure consistent messaging across platforms (chat, web, community, social, product).
  • Work cross-functionally with Product Designers (UX/UI), Product Managers, and Engineers, to make the customer journey as user-friendly (and delightful) as possible.
  • Serve as a key member of the Content & Community Content Strategy team focused on driving strategic opportunities and collaboration on platform content strategies to achieve business goals.
  • Define goals for the content strategy team and ensure the team is in line with the Content & Community organization strategic direction.
  • Prepare business reviews for the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to executing on the strategic vision.
Management
Oversee quality work output for all content strategy direct reports.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings to foster a collaborative atmosphere and support content strategy team performance needs.
Conduct contributor performance assessments and address improvement opportunities in a timely manner.
Collaborate with peer managers to support the efficient completion of ongoing work and organizational initiatives.
Act as product owner for content strategy team, collaborating with scrum master to ensure team aligns to Agile content practices.

Skills:
8+ years' experience in digital content strategy.
Experience leading content teams.
A portfolio that demonstrates strong writing and editing skills, as well as a deep understanding of how to support the overall customer experience and product usability.
The ability to identify user problems and solve them creatively and critically.
A collaborative work style and the ability to think holistically—understanding how design and copy work together to provide customers with a consistent end-to-end message.
Strong multi-tasking, time-management, leadership, and organizational skills.
A motivated, self-starter attitude with demonstrated ability to push independent and team projects to completion.
Ability to effectively and confidently communicate information in both verbal and written formats, including analysis and pitch decks.
Comfort with data, and the ability to surface and articulate meaningful content performance insights.
Ability to show flexibility, willing to work irregular business hours to accommodate global content team contributors.

Education:
A bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field
