POSITION SUMMARY

The position involves basic research into why demographic information from our accounts is rejected by the Credit Reporting Agencies (CRAs) – Team will provide spreadsheet with data/errors to work off of daily.
Basic problems typically involve customer names, addresses, social security numbers, and dates of birth. The goal is to correct the information so it’s accepted by the CRAs. Good problem solving and research skills are necessary as the errors are not always immediately evident from the accompanying CRA error message. Investigations require critical thinking as no two accounts are the same and contain unique errors which are often difficult to identify. An eye towards spotting trends is also helpful to make sure our internal policies and/or computer systems are not causing errors. Reasonable care and attention to detail is required to ensure any changes are supported by the account’s demographic history and will not negatively impact the consumer.
The process involves reviewing the CRA Reject Report (provided daily) and reviewing the account to determine what caused the error. Once the error is found, the next step is determining a solution/correction. Using a combination of the systems listed below will usually provide the necessary resolution. Any corrections must conform to the Consumer Reporting Resource Guide (CRRG) which dictates what and how information is reported to the CRAs and thus governs how it is stored in our systems. Sometimes easy fixes in the systems (basic data entry errors), and some require additional research and verification.

Requirements
Must Haves:

· 1-2+ years of experience, but okay with recent grad looking to learn
· Skip tracing and investigation experience
· Strong analytical skills – look into/researching the account and see what happened
· Need to be able to think on their feet and realize that sometimes there’s no solution (be able to make decisions independently)
· Strong attention to detail
· Strong logical and critical thinking skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with many different groups/individuals in a team setting
Experience organizing, prioritizing, and handling multiple tasks with a high level of efficiency
· Adapting to and working effectively within a variety of situations and responsibilities
· Quick learner
· System-savvy and Internet-savvy
· MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred/ Nice-to-haves:
· Reading Credit reports is highly preferred
· Credit granting or approval process at a bank is useful
· Exposure to credit reporting
· Having experience with actually maintaining the Shaw and LeMans systems would be helpful
