Laboratory Operations Associate

The Laboratory Operations Associate will provide operational support to the Research Department labs, encompassing both chemistry and biology expertise areas. This role will focus primarily on the procurement and restocking of supplies, general laboratory maintenance, and support of laboratory staff in their daily workflow
Skills: · Perform daily inventories and ensure laboratory supplies are ordered, restocked, and available as needed; distribute goods upon arrival and notify end users· Effectively communicate with end users, providing daily updates on the availability of laboratory consumables and status of equipment repairs· Coordinate laboratory equipment repairs with internal and external resources; perform routine maintenance on basic equipment (centrifuges, water bathes, freezers, vacuum pumps, etc.)· Assist laboratory end users during scheduled lab and cold storage clean-outs and ensure basic housekeeping and organization in the lab spaces at all times· Identify inefficiencies or opportunities for process improvement in the lab environment· Ensure a safe working environment by identifying, reporting, and eliminating potential workplace hazards· In partnership with EHS, perform routine lab safety inspections and walkthroughs, and participate in monthly safety committees
Keywords:
Education: · Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline or High School degree plus 2-5 years of experience in a research laboratory environment.· Experience with procurement systems, especially purchase order requisitions and various catalog formats· Strong skills in Microsoft Office; experience with asset management systems and other web-based software platforms a plus· Position requires excellent time management skills, verbal and written communication skills, and a high attention to detail· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs required.
