Wireless Engineer II

· WLAN INFRASTRUCTURE: Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Wireless LAN Controllers, MSE/CMX, Access Points
· WLAN USERS: DATA, VOICE, LOCATION (RFID, BLE), GUEST
· RADIO FREQUENCY (RF) THEORY: RSSI, SNR, Interferences, Spectrum Analysis
· TOOLS: Ekahau, Spectrum Analysis
· SECURITY AAA: Cisco Client, Cisco Client
· SECURITY WLAN: (802.1x/PEAP-MSCHAP, WPA2-AES)
· PCAPS: Wireshark, Cisco, other
· Experience with logical design models and network protocols
· Strong knowledge of Layer 2 network protocols (STP, VLANs, Ethernet, etc.)
· Strong knowledge of IP routing (IP addressing, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)
· Understand WAN/LAN and transport technologies (MPLS, TDM circuits, etc.)
· Working knowledge of other IT systems and how they interact with the network (applications, end user devices, servers)
· Experience with network cabling and physical layer network infrastructure
· Working technical knowledge of network control and management protocols and technologies (CoS, PoE, NTP, DHCP,
CDP, TFTP, SNMP, SYSLOG etc.) and security-related protocols (SSH, HTTPS, AAA, IPSec, etc.)
· Experience with Cisco IOS software and configuration required
· Experience with Cisco NX-OS and IOS-XE software is preferred
· IP voice and video experience is a plus
· Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products
· Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
· Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Visio is required
· Wireless Network Engineer 3+ years network engineering experience Cisco Certified Network Associate – Wireless (CCNA-Wireless) certification



JOB DESCRIPTION – WIRELESS ENGINEER II

The Wireless Network Engineer will perform the implementation, operational support, maintenance, and optimization of wireless network hardware, and software for 41 hospitals, 200 clinics, and 3 states. The Wireless Network Engineer will apply industry best practices and methodologies and enterprise standards to ensure that the network provides reliable service
and supports the organization’s business objectives and mission. The Wireless Network Engineer will also analyze network issues and provide timely and thorough resolution.

Responsibilities
• Configure contemporary versions of Cisco Prime Infrastructure; including site mapping, mobility services, health monitoring, and report generation
• Implement Hospital wireless LAN environments, consisting of Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Access Points, and an overlay of standard WLAN’s
• Assist with assembly of device configurations and oversee modifications to the wired LAN environment, as it pertains to the connectivity and passage of wireless components and user traffic
• Build configurations and/or oversee modifications to the AAA (Client-8.x for TACACS+, ISE1.x/2.x for RADIUS) environment, as it pertains to the inclusion of wireless device role based access, and user device authentication & authorization
• Install, upgrade and/or enhance instances of site and enterprise Guest Wireless solutions
• Provide quality control over the development of Radio Frequency (RF) surveys/designs, and oversee the deployment of Wireless Radio layouts at site locations
• Maintain and follow enterprise standards
• Monitor network performance and perform capacity management
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational network issues
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, processes, and service records
• Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
• Maintain lab environments to test and evaluate configurations and new technologies
• Perform audits and backups Requirements

Education:
Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or 3 to 5 years equivalent work experience
