The candidate will join a small team of downstream scientists within the Gene Therapy Development group, focusing efforts on early phase development of new viral vector production platforms as well as supporting late-stage development and design space studies of existing AAV programs. Candidate will be responsible for planning and executing bench-scale purification experiments and coordinating relevant analytical testing to support their studies. Candidate will also assist with pilot-scale processing for material generation. He/she will be expected to communicate results effectively, both within the team as well as to the broader organization, through well-written technical reports and clear oral presentations.
Candidate should be self-motivated and display sound technical judgment. He/she should exemplify an investigative attitude and be able to operate semi-independently. The candidate should be able to interpret data and have 3 to 6 years of purification experience.

Downstream processing experience required. Specific areas of expertise include:
Depth filtration and harvest clarification
Liquid column chromatography
Automated purification systems such as Akta
Tangential flow filtration & microfiltration
Virus filtration
Pilot-scale processing
Understanding of viral vectors a plus
Basic analytical skills such as HPLC and spectrophotometry a plus
Strong written and oral communication skills a must
