Job Description:
Qualifications:
The Network Engineer is responsible for effective analysis and implementation of new technologies, review and troubleshooting of production network infrastructure, and providing recommendation for improvements to CLIENT's network infrastructure.
 
Duties:
• Implement and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions including Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, and Citrix Netscaler SDWAN/WAAS.
• Manage network communications testing, installation, and support, including LAN and WAN systems.
• Facilitate incident management with circuit providers to expedite outage resolutions.
• Analyze existing infrastructure deficiencies and present recommendations for improvement
• Identify and diagnose problems affecting network performance using software and hardware tools
• Follow Infrastructure Solution Design as established by Senior Engineers/Architects
• Troubleshoot network systems as needed
• Provide off hours support as needed
• Ensure that infrastructure remote offices and central data center facilities adhere to organizational standards
• Work with other team members, providers and customers to design, implement and support new and existing infrastructure solutions.
• Create Infrastructure documentation
• Stay current on industry trends and new technologies that may increase efficiency or decrease costs associated with installed systems and future technology initiatives
 
Required Function 2:
Required Skills:
• Configuration and management experience of LAN/WAN technologies
• Strong experience installing Cisco routers, access layer switches and Wireless Access Points.
• Experience with Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
• Proficiency with Cisco ASA firewalls
• Knowledge of routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP)
• Working knowledge managing telecom issues
• Ability to maintain a profession demeanor when troubleshooting issues
• High level of customer care skills and demonstrates change agility around environment and technology
• Intrapersonal skills to help negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among support and project stakeholders
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Cacti, Scrutinizer, Solarwinds, Extrahop)
 
Required Function 3:
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
• (Preferred) CCNA Certifications
• Minimum 10 years related network experience in operational support
