Typical Minimum Requirements

Education:
· Accredited (Technical or Applied Science) University Construction Safety degree or equivalent
· Professional Construction Safety Expert (CM/GC) have a minimum professional qualification of OSHA 30/10 trainer (USA), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) (USA)
· Minimum SIX (6) years of construction safety experience

Job Summary
· Minimize the potential for injury or other loss by using an independent judgment based on a mixture of knowledge and "safety-first” experience
· Promote occupational health and safety consciousness among all project employees
· Engage in the project during the design phase to identify and assess hazards and risks in an early stage of the project
· Control the Company's construction occupational health and safety standards, policies and targets on the project, or
· Lead the Company's construction occupational health and safety standards, policies and targets on the project directly, depending on the project size or identified project risk potential
· CSE/R: Reports directly to the project management office during the project duration
· CSE/CM/GC: Reports directly to the CM during the project duration

Duties and Responsibilities
· Define clear roles & responsibilities between Construction Safety Expert and CM
During Planning
· Monitor, control and implement legal and Company's construction occupational health and safety standards, policies and targets into the project
· Identify ways to avoid risks to construction occupational health and safety
· Analyse, evaluate and give advising feedback to the construction safety risk analysis, hazard assessments and safety pre task planning. (Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analysis, etc.)
· Give input to tenders and contract documents regarding construction occupational health and safety. If necessary, participate in the bid review and award
· Review or assist with the creation of the construction site safety management plan, assembly concepts and construction SHE site management plan
· Provide advice during scheduling, especially when reconciling construction activities, durations and trade stacking (different types of construction in the same area) to prevent/avoid dangers caused by coexistence

During Construction
· Monitor, control and implement legal and Company's construction occupational health and safety standards, policies and targets into the project
· Analyse, evaluate and advise feedback to the construction safety risk analysis, hazard assessments and safety pre task planning. (Risk Assessments, Job Hazard Analysis, etc.)
· Determine safety and health-relevant interactions between the work of the individual trades on the construction site and other operational activities or influences near the construction site
· Organise the co-operation of the construction companies with regard to construction safety and health through regular participation in construction coordination and safety meetings
· Advise the CM / GC/ contractor construction managers regarding implementation of requirements of the construction occupational health and safety
· Review of the agreed safeguards for implementation and effectiveness
· Execute, evaluate and maintain necessary construction safety inspections and audits regarding assembly concepts, logistics plan and construction site regime
· Conduct and lead incident investigations and assures timely reporting. Investigations include root cause and corrective actions to closure
· Maintain records, reports, and documents to meet company or regulatory requirements
· Advise, supervise and train employees assigned to project in construction safety matters
· Develop, upgrade, and manage construction safety site programs, including recommendation for awards and recognition programs
· Maintain interface with site's representatives, insurance bodies, the construction project safety community, and the corporate construction safety expert
· Perform at least daily construction safety walks
· Unlimited authority to intervene in case of dangerous situations or proactively in order to avoid accidents
· CSE/R: Is responsible for personal discipline management and can send workers off the construction site
