      Taleo Title: Staff Project Controls Specialist


      The Project Portfolio Specialist will be responsible for helping with managing and monitoring a portfolio of diverse projects within the Primavera Portfolio Management (PPM) application. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of interest in portfolio management and IT systems with experience developing solutions within the Primavera Portfolio Management application. This includes the ability to design and build the PPM user interface to translate business data into digestible information that improves the project portfolio selection and communication processes.

      Other duties as assigned:

      • Configure, customize, and develop functionality for PPM. Including but not limited to the development of portfolio prioritization models, portfolio hierarchical structures, and the creation of categories, tabs, forms, workflows, query-based portfolios, and alerts.

      • Collaborate with the project and portfolio management teams to create and maintain portfolio dashboards, cost reports, round meetings, and JHay management deliverables within PPM.

      • Produce documentation and training materials associated with the portfolio, PPM system, and processes.

      • Considerable experience in system testing and the loading of data into OPPM.

        Experience in the design and delivery of integrations between project management tools Primavera Unifier, and Primavera P6 is a plus.

      • Develop new methods, techniques and criteria across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional systems and business processes.

      • Ability to use and communicate simply advanced problem-solving tools and techniques.

      • Lead efforts to promote the portfolio management process with best practices from external training and conferences, including resource management and prioritization model enhancement of internal portfolio practices, procedures, tools, and systems.

      • Develop training documentation and administer training on portfolio tools, processes, and procedures for the collection of scope, project, program, and portfolio attributes.

      • Communicate plans for changes/updates to the PPM system to end users and those otherwise impacted by system updates.


    • Bachelor of Science degree MIS(Management information systems) Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field or equivalent experience required. This position requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in portfolio management, project management, and/or project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reporting within the construction and/or electric utility industry.


        • Strong organizational planning, and understanding of portfolio management concepts

        • Experience in developing and implementing capital project management portfolio strategies

        • Skilled at solving multi-dimensional problems with both quantitative and qualitative variables

        • Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak articulately across all levels of the company

        • Comfort operating on both strategic and tactical levels

        • Ability to lead and influence others in support of company objectives

        • Excellent analytical and problem-solving, decision making and cross-functional teams

        • Experience with Primavera Portfolio Management (PPM)

        • Experience with QlikView is a plus

        • Experience with SQL Developer / Toad is a plus

        • Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier is a plus
