Job Description:
  • Documents milestone schedules to create detailed project schedules.
  • Works with MDM manager to ensure that material numbers for each component are set up in SAP (establishing specs and requesting ISBNs).
  • Participates in weekly status meetings on assigned projects (may be asked to schedule meetings); prepares for meetings by gathering information from vendors and internal staff prior to the meeting time so that the focus is on addressing and resolving delays.
  • May be asked to maintain and update lists of outstanding decisions and unresolved issues, to attend higher-level meetings where these topics are addressed, and to take and distribute minutes of these meetings including lists of decisions and action items. Alerts the Lead Production Manager and Finance to any change in project scope that has potential budget exposure (or savings) or schedule implications. Is aware of progress against milestones for each project and recommends necessary actions to keep projects on schedule; alerts the Senior Production Manager when delivery is in jeopardy.
  • Reviews and understands budgets for assigned projects.
  • Must be professional, clear, direct, and accurate in verbal and written communications; will communicate daily with vendors and members of internal departments as well as with others in Production Management.
  • Makes sure that all members of the team knows about any changes to projects that will impact other projects.
  • Reviews invoices to confirm they reflect the assignment.
Responsibilities:
  • A big list of files and ISPNs will eb provided along with wide system access.  need to go through on ISPN by ISPN basis.  they have group in house Publishing Review Services that they will work with and be ultimate arbiters if what was found is final version to submit to digital vendor and submit as PDF.  Since a large number of legacy pieces will want the worker to help them organize and delete old versions and note folder. 
  • There is also possibility that will need to compare InDesign to PDF or recreate InDesign files.  Good experience  with InDesign at least on basic level. 
  • Don't need a designer but understands InDesign basics and the process so they can problem solve. 
  • Hoping in most cases they will not need to go into InDesign if printer PDF files are in good shape but some times will need to go into In Design files.  This project is time sensitive since Flash is going away and work with PDF so vendor can post without Flash.
Required Skills:
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Ability to organize effectively in order to manage multiple project simulataneously.
  • Ability to contribute to on-time, on-budget, high-quality development efforts.
  • Knowledge of relevant publishing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, good written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment about escalation of problems, and ability to remain objective.
  • Familiarity with working in an agile development methodology preferred
Experience:
3-5 years experience

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus a minimum of 1 years of related work experience including experience in digital and print production, experience developing interactive learning software and experience in application and web-based development.
  • PMP certification desirable and may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
